Legal
Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026 · Version 3.2Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility
By accessing, registering or using UniBound, you enter into a legally binding agreement to comply with these Terms of Service. UniBound is intended exclusively for verified university students, prospective scholars and international exchange participants aged 18 or older. Registration with false credentials, impersonation of another student or institution, or maintaining duplicate accounts is strictly prohibited.
Community Code of Conduct & Zero-Tolerance
UniBound enforces an absolute zero-tolerance policy against harassment, bullying, hate speech, discrimination based on nationality, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability, physical or verbal intimidation, unwanted sexual advances and illicit solicitations. A verified breach may result in immediate account revocation, a device ban and potential institutional notification.
In-Person Meetups & Venue Disclaimers
UniBound functions strictly as a software directory for social discovery and spot recommendations. UniBound does not employ, screen, background-check or supervise meetup hosts or attendees. Offline student meetups occur independently at public third-party venues. Users voluntarily assume personal risks and should meet in well-lit public spots, notify a friend of their location and maintain independent transit.
Mandatory Reporting Steps & Protocol
Every user is required to report misconduct or safety threats encountered on UniBound or during meetups. If immediate physical danger is present, call local emergency services before notifying the platform.
- Use the in-app “Report User” action on the relevant meetup card, attendee profile or Meetup History entry.
- Select the violation category and provide factual details, timestamps and context.
- Reported profiles may be restricted while the moderation team reviews the incident.
- Deceptive, fraudulent or retaliatory reporting is a major violation.
Intellectual Property & User Content License
By publishing spot reviews, local tips, photos or meetup listings, you grant UniBound a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display and format your content. You retain ownership and guarantee that your submissions do not violate third-party copyrights, privacy rights or local laws.
Limitation of Liability & Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, UniBound, its developers and partners shall not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from user interactions, meetup attendance or venue conditions. Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless UniBound against claims resulting from platform misuse or breach of these terms.
Account Termination & Regulatory Compliance
UniBound reserves the right to suspend or terminate an account, delete content or report unlawful activity to law enforcement at its sole discretion and where permitted by law. Continued use of UniBound following a policy revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
